Dolmabahçe Palace
The most famous palace of Turkey after Topkapi Palace which was the rule center and residence of the old Ottoman Dynasty since the time of Fatih (The Conqueror) Sultan Mehmet . Dolmabahçe Palace was the new residence of the last Ottoman Sultans (Kings,
Padishahs). The founder and the first republican president of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk used this palace as residence during his illness and died here at the morning of November 10th, 1938. Currently, Dolmabahçe Palace is a international protocol residence belongs Turkish Grand National Assembly and open to visitors as a museum. |
